The Volleyball Blog: Why Not Us
Throughout the 2012 CCCAA Volleyball playoffs, Citrus College sophomore Kassidy Greenberg will be blogging about the experience for CitrusOwls.com. Today's installment is the second of the Volleyball Blog.
Knowing that we play Orange Coast has its ups and downs. The positive side is that we already played them in the beginning of our pre-conference season, we know their main players, and know what to expect. Also we have grown so much since we played in the Pasadena tournament against PCC and Mt. SAC. The negative side to this is that we already lost to Orange Coast and we do not have three of our starting players.
Being down three players may have some concerns, but at the end of a day we are all here for the same reason; to be a team and win as a team. Before we knew we were going to the playoffs Shin said, "Why not us? Why can't we be the team to get to the playoffs and win?" In Mondays practice we had to switch people around and figure out a game plan with only 9 girls left healthy and being able to play on Tuesday. Having girls play a position they haven't played all season is going to be rough, but this practice was a good one.
We have the talent, I know we do, we just have to work hard because "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard". We all know this quote and have said it since the beginning of summer. Like I said before we are here and we are ready.
