Volleyball Still at 17
Glendora, CA -- The California Community College Women's Volleyball Coach Association State Top 25 Poll #6 came out this morning, and the Citrus College Volleyball team stayed at #17 this week. It's the fourth straight poll in which the Owls have appeared.
Last week, Citrus took care of business sweeping Santa Monica College (25-15, 25-20, and 25-20) and West Los Angeles College (25-8, 25-6, 25-8). Sophomore Alexis Lunney had a team best 20 kills during the week, and posted an impressive .356 kill percentage for the week.
Citrus will have a tall test this week as they begin the second half of Western State Conference South Division play with a pair of huge home matches. The Owls kick things off on Wednesday evening against State #1 and reigning CCCAA State Champion Los Angeles Pierce College (21-0). The Brahmas have won 54 straight matches and have gone 63-1 in sets this season.
On Friday, Citrus gets another strong test when they take on #23 College of the Canyons (10-8). The Cougars handed the Owls a four set loss at the start of conference during the first week of October. Freshman Kayla Eddings had 13 kills in that loss and sophomore Kassidy Greenberg added 10. Each match is set for a 7:00 PM start time in the Owls' Nest.
