After an impressive two-year run with Citrus College Women's Basketball, standout guard Jolleen Olia is advancing to the next level—continuing both her academic and athletic journey at Cal Poly Pomona.

A graduate of Walnut High School, Olia made an immediate impact at Citrus. As a freshman, she led the Owls to a 21-9 record—their highest win total in over a decade—and a second-round appearance in the 3C2A SoCal Regional playoffs. She averaged 21.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. Her exceptional play earned her a spot on the CCCWBCA 2023–2024 All-State Southern California Third Team and the honor of 2024 Western State Conference-South Most Outstanding Player.

In the classroom, Olia was just as impressive. She was named to the CCCWBCA All-Academic Team for the 2023–24 season, recognized as a Citrus College Scholar Baller in 2024 and 2025, and recently received a Distinguished Student Award at the 62nd Annual Citrus College Achievement Awards—an honor selected by faculty based on academic performance, classroom engagement, and overall contributions to the learning environment.

As a sophomore, Olia once again played a pivotal role, guiding Citrus to an 18-11 record and a return trip to the 3C2A SoCal Regionals. She earned All-Conference First Team honors in Western State Conference South while averaging 14.2 points (9th in the conference), 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

As Jolleen Olia takes her talents to Cal Poly Pomona, she leaves behind a legacy at Citrus College as one of the most decorated players in program history:

  • 1st all-time in career scoring: 1,053 points

  • 2nd in points per game: 17.8

  • 1st in free throw percentage: 88.2%

  • 2nd in three-pointers made: 98

  • 3rd in career steals: 129

Across 59 games, Olia averaged 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.

After graduating this week, four of Olia's teammates will transfer to continue their academic journeys: Breanna Escobedo will attend Cal Poly Pomona, Samantha Martinez will attend Cal State Fullerton, Leilani Argueta will attend Cal State Los Angeles, and Deija Mitchell will attend Long Beach State University.
