Citrus College Women's Basketball suffered a 73-55 home loss to Antelope Valley College tonight.
The Owls move to 14-9 overall on the season and 5-4 in conference games, while Antelope Valley College moves to 15-8 overall and 8-1 in conference.
Citrus played competitively in the first quarter, but the Marauders outscored the Owls 22-9 in the second quarter to take a 40-22 lead into halftime. Citrus College and Antelope Valley College each scored 23 second half points, giving AVC the 73-55 conference win, their second win over the Owls this season.
Breanna Escobedo scored 18 points with a game-high six steals, three assists and two rebounds. Jolleen Olia scored 13 points with five rebounds, three steals and two assists while Leilani Argueta scored nine points, adding four rebounds and two steals.
Citrus College will travel to College of the Canyons for their next game this Saturday, February 8th in hopes of picking up their second win over the Cougars this season, tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
