The Citrus College Women's Basketball team traveled to El Camino College yesterday, Wednesday, November 20th to earn a 68-47 win.
Citrus College improves to 3-1 on the season while El Camino College goes to 0-5 on the season.
The Owls jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter and took an 18-7 lead into the second quarter. Citrus continued their strong offensive showing in the second quarter as they went up 40-22 at halftime.
Citrus had their largest lead of 25 points late in the third quarter and coasted to the 68-47 win. The Owls were efficient, shooting 40.3% from the field while outscoring the Warriors 38-22 in points in the paint. Citrus outscored El Camino in points off turnovers 29-11.
The Owls were led by Silvia Garcia who scored 13 points with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Samantha Martinez scored 10 points while leading the Owls with eight rebounds. Deija Mitchell added nine points off the bench while Kristin Morella led the Owls with four steals off the bench.
Citrus College will play their final game of the El Camino Crossover against Irvine Valley College tomorrow, Friday, November 22nd at 5 p.m.
