Glendora, CA - Citrus College sophomore first baseman Jade Nua was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American recently. Nua earned the honors after a historic 2017 campaign, in which she was named the Western State Conference East Player of the Year, and a California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association All-State selection. She is just the fifth player in Citrus College Softball history to earn the honor.

Nua's 2017 season saw her finish 11th in the entire State in runs (57), sixth in RBIs (62), fourth in home runs (16), and second in batting average (.582) of those individuals with at least 50 at bats. She led the State in walks (42), on-base percentage (.725), and slugging percentage (1.235). Her 42 walks ties her for the most in by an individual player in State history.

Along with making her mark in the State history books, Nua pretty much rewrote all of the offensive program records. She is now the single season program leader in batting average, RBIs, runs, and on-base percentage. She is second in slugging percentage and home runs.

Nua finished her career with the second highest batting average in program history (.480), and is now first in the following categories: runs (80), home runs (19), RBIs (84), walks (70), on-base percentage (.639), and slugging percentage (.886).
