Pat Burke

Pat Burke earned MVP of the Citrus College Men's Golf program in 1984, helping the Owls place first in conference after the team placed first in five tournaments and second in two tournaments during the spring of 1984. Burke went on to transfer to Cal State Dominguez Hills, where he earned second-team All-American honors in 1985, becoming only the school's second men's golfer to earn such honors. That same year, Burke won the 15th Annual Gary Sanders Memorial Golf Tournament at Los Angeles National Golf Course while helping the Toros set a program-record low combined score of 286, which held up until it was tied in 2017, then broken in 2022 when the Toros combined for a 285 score. In 1986, Burke turned professional and went on to compete on the PGA Tour, including appearances at the PGA Championship, U.S. Open and The Open Championship. In 1994, Burke won both the Optus Players Championship and the Victorian Championship while competing on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
