1981 Men's Cross Country Team

The 1981 Citrus College Men's Cross Country team captured the state championship at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif., finishing with 49 points to defeat Moorpark's 85 and complete a perfect 9-0 season. The Owls were led by Mike Carlton, who won the 4-mile race in 19:25.0, while teammate Mark Ruelas placed sixth in 19:47. Also competing at the state meet were Fernando Valesquez, Frank Selvaggio, Ron Johnson, Brian Kleinsasser and Juan Torrez. Selvaggio finished 20th in 22:36, with the remaining Citrus runners contributing to the team's championship score as the Owls secured a perfect 9-0 season.
